फागुन मासक फगुआ प्रात छलयl दाइ माइ सब नदी किनारे खिस्सा सुनै छली l राजा के अपन भरनी पानि लै गेलखिन कहलखिन कि जे यइ दाइ सब इ केने कि होइ छैl तs ओ कहलखिन कि कहलकन लोक राजा अपन भरनी के जे इ केने कि होइ छै, धन मांsगि छै धन होइ छै, पुत्र मांsगि छै पुत्र होइ छैl जे मांsगि छै मन मनकामना में रोपय छै से सबटा से पूरा होइ छैl 

It was a typical morning of the month of Phagun. Old ladies were all listening to stories by the river side. The king’s maid went there to fetch water and said, “What benefit will accrue if all this is religiously observed?” People there told the King’s maid, “If money is demanded, it’s granted. If a son is demanded, it’s granted. Whatever one yearns for in one’s heart, it is fulfilled.” 

उ लोक सब सs से बड़ मांsगि लेलैन, पु मांsगि लेलैन, लाल ताग, पियर ताग, डोरा मांsगि लेलैनl डोरा मांsगि कs से उ बांधs लगलीl प्रसादी मांsगि लेलखिन लोक सब सsl हुनका देरी लगलैनl देरी लगलैन त इ एलैथ जहन खिस्सा समाप्त भs गेलय तs पानि लsl पानि लs कs एलखिन रानी के देबs लैl रानी गरियाबs लगलखिन, गय एने ओने ककरा सs तू छलैं हs फंसल जे हमरा राजा के अबेर भेलl तs कहलखिन कि दाइ यइ हमरा गाsरि नइ पढु हम से रोहिदास के जोड़ा मंगलउँ हैं, रोहिदास के जोड़ा मंगलउँ हैंl लाs तोरा मंगने हमरा हैत रोहिदास के जोड़ाl तs हम अपने कियै नइ मांगबl अपने बाँहब अपने मांगबl

She asked people for flour made of black lentils, she asked for sweet dumplings, red thread, yellow thread, she asked for various threads. She started wrapping the thread she had asked for. She asked for offerings from people. She got late. Then she returned with water after the story got over. She came to the Queen to give water. The Queen started chastising her, saying “Hey, where were you, meeting up with whom, so that the King was late?” She said, “Madam, please don’t chastise me. I have asked for a pair of Rohidases, have asked for a pair of Rohidases.” The Queen said, “Huh. Give it (water) to me the water. As if you just wishing for it will get me a pair of Rohidases. Why shouldn’t I just pray for it myself. I will wrap [thread] on my own self and pray for it.”

ओकरा सs लs लेलखिन, लs लेलखिन, बांधि लेलैथ अपना जोड़ माsरि कs अपना बान्हि परl बान्हि पर जे बांधि लेलैथ  तs कहलखिन कि…राजा एलन भोजन करs लैl भोजन करs लै एलखिन कि नs तs आन दिन बांहि झाम्पि कs दइ छलखिन खाइ लै भोजन राजा के, ओइ दिन उघारि लेलैथ बांहिl  बांहि उघारि लेलैथl राजा देखलकनl राजा पिनपिना कs चलि गेलनl भोजन नइ केलखिनl

She took it (the thread) from her and wrapped and knotted it onto her forearm with a knot. As she wrapped it on her forearm, the King arrived for his meal. As he arrived for his meal, she gave him food, with her bare forearm bare, which would remain covered on other days when she gave him food to eat would normally remain covered. She had her forearm bare. The King saw it. The King recoiled and went back in anger, refusing to eat. 

भोजन नइ जे केलखिन कि नइ तs कहलखिन राजा इ बात कियैl आ तs अहाँ सत करू तs हम कहबl आ तs अहाँ हमरा में सत होबs के चाहिl हाँ, हेबs के चाहिl अहाँ  सोन चानी पेहनब तs अहाँ के जगहे नइ अइ आ ओ लाल ताग पियर ताग डोरा कियै बाँधलौंl तs देलखिन हुनका, खोलि लेलैथ आ देबs गेलखिन फेर भोजनl फेर बजा कs भोजन दियs गेलखिनl भोजन जे दियs गेलखिन तs राजा से अपन एलैथ जे आब हटै लेलक डोरा, खैब भोजन करबl राजा कs कs जब भोजन चलि गेला दलान पर फेर रानी जोड़ मोड़ि कs बांधि लेलैथl जोड़ मोड़ि कs बांधि लेलैथl

As he didn’t eat, the queen then asked the King, “What’s the matter, the King?” 

“You promise me, then I will tell you.”

“Ok, I promise.”

“You should confide in me, then I will tell you.” 

“Yes, I should.” 

“There isn’t an empty place on your body where you could wear more gold and silver, and yet you have tied this red, yellow thread!?”

So she then untied the thread and went to give him food. Again she called for him and went to give him food. When she went to call him for food, the King thought, “Now she has removed the thread, so I should eat.” As the King went off to the foreyard after having eaten, she again tied the thread, somehow making a knot.

राति में जे फेर सुतs गेलैथ दुनु प्राणी खा पी कs तब रानी नींद पड़ि गेलैथl राजा के हुनका टकटकी लगले रहैनl आन दिन हुनका बांहि सिरहाना दs कs राजा के सुतइ छलथ रानी आ ओइ दिन बांहि के मोड़ि कs सुतलैथl बांहि के मोड़ि कs सुतलैथl राजा घमलक जे कि बात छै आन दिन हमरा बांहि सिरहाना दs कs रानी सुतइ छलैथ हs आइ नइl राजा नइ किछ बजलाl रानी के नींद पड़s देलखिन, राजा तोड़ि कs आ दीप जरैत रहय,  दीपक टेम पर क दाsगि देलखिनl दीपक टेम पर क दाsगि देलखिन श्री सपता महरानी के अरवेर अरवेर,अरवेर अरवेर फोंका भs गेलन सौंसे देहl

The Queen fell asleep after both of them went to bed after dinner. The King kept gazing at the Queen. She would usually sleep with her arm around the King’s head, but that night she slept with her arm folded close to herself. She slept with her arm folded close to herself. The King mused, “I wonder, why she has slept with her arm folded close to herself, as she usually sleeps with her arm around my head.” The King didn’t say anything. While the Queen slept, and the King removed the thread out and burnt it over the flame of an oil lamp. As he burnt it over the flame of the lamp; the goddess of fate Queen Sapta got large blisters all over the body.

कहलखिन गय बहिन सपता तs कि भैया विपता,तs चल तs रजवा रानी के आइ सुतले में डंसि लेब से देखी तs दुनु भाई बहिनी के कते दुखाइ यैह, कते फोंका लहर मारइ यैहl

“Hey sister Sapta,” asked Vipta. “What is the matter, happened brother Vipta?” asked Sapta. “Let’s go and bite the King and Queen while they sleep. See how much pain they have given us both, how much these blisters are burning!,” said Vipta.

त अपन एलैथl केचुआ घघरि पहिर लेलैथl एलैथ दुनु भाई बहिनl मुख में उठा उठा कs धर पटकय, उठा उठा कs धर पटकय नाग नागिनl रानी के नींद टूटलैनl रानी के नींद टूटलैनl तब ई फेर कहय छैन रजवा रानी सुतल छैथ कि जागल छैथl तs सुतलो छी जगलो छी, नगरक चरचित लइतो छीl कहलखिन तs आइ तs हम बारहो वर्ष के विपत देलियौअए से अपन लेl कहलखिन आइ चलि जाउ कालि घर गोसाउन सs विचाइर कs कहबl

So theyhe went therecame. They wore a skirts of snake’s shedded skin. Both brother and -sister came. Raising their heads, they kept smackinghitting the ground time and again (in anger). Raising their heads and smacking them against the hitting ground, the male and female snakescobra and the female counterpart. The Queen’ was awakened sleep got broken. The Queen was awakened. Then he again asked, “The King and the Queen are awake or asleep?” The Queen replied, “We are asleep as well as awake. Keep getting to know what’s happening in the townaround in the city.” He said, “I am giving you 12 years of troubles, so take it.” The Queen repliedsaid, “Please leave for today; I will, talk to the house head of the house and let you know tomorrow.” 

फेर प्रातः भेने एलन दुनु भाई बहिनl सपता विपता दुनु भाई बहिनी, केचुआ घघरी पहिरने ओल्थी मुख में धांइ धांइ धर पटकैत आ उनका कैला नींद हेतनl उनका नींद कियै हेतनl

Again both brother and -sister returnedcame next morning. Sapta and Vipta, both brother and -sister, wearing skirts of a snake’s shedded skin’s skirt, raising and smackinghitting their heads against the ground. A, and then how, why would after all, could the Queen possibly staybe able to sleeping?. HowWhy would she be able to sleep?.

तब फेर कहलखिन, रजवा रानी सुतल छैथ कि जागल छैथl

OnceThen again he said, “Are the King and the Queen are asleep or awake?” 

सुतलो छी जगलो छी, नगरक चरचित लइतो छीl आ तs आइ बारह बरस के वीपैत देलियौअए से आइ लेl नबारी लेबै कि बुढ़ाढ़ि? तs कहलखिन कि बुढ़ाढ़ि नइ काटल हैत नबारिए दियsl

The Queen replied, “We are asleep as well as awake. Keep getting to know what’s happening around in the towncity.” He said, “THave, today I have, given you 12 years of troubles, so take it. Will you take it for a period when you are young or oldof youthng age, or old age?” The Queen said, “It would be difficult to manage in old age, so give it for when we are young in this young age only.”

भरिए राति में जत्ते हिनकर सोन सोहबर, कोठा सोफा, धन सर्वस्व छलन सब बनारस लै गेलन उठि कsl उठि गेलन, चल गेलन सबटा उठि कs बनारसl किछु नइ रहलैनl

Throughout the night,Lifted all their gold, ornaments, buildings, furniture, wealth, everything was taken to Benaras in the night itself.  It was removedLifted, everything went off to Benaras. Nothing remained. 

प्रात: भेने बेटा उठलैन रोहिदासl खाइ लै मंगलकनl खाइ लै जे मंगलकन कि नै तs रहैन तs किछ नइl फेर जे उ चेरिया एलन तs कहलखिन, गय अथी घर में जे चारों कोन में कs धरोहर गाड़ने रहत से धरोहर कोsरि ले एक कोन में सs, हाट बजार सs किन कs आsनि दे हमरा,रोहिदास खैत, सब कोई, तीनु गोटे खैब, रजो रानीl

The next morning, their son, Rohidas, awoke up. Asked He asked for food. ThoughAs he requestedasked for food, there was nothing to offer him. When the maid arrived, she asked her, “Hey, dig up ourand take out the heritage store from one of the four corners of the house where he (the King) had buried ourthe savingswealth, and go to the market. Bring supplies tome., Rohidas,s will eat, all of us, all three of us, also the King and the Queen will eat.” 

ई जे कोरs गेल चेरिया तs सबटा कोयलाlसबटा कोयलाl फेर दोसर कोन देखा देलखिन तs कोयलेl तेसर कोन देखलखिन तs वैह कोयलाl चारिम कोन देखलखिन तs उ क्षमा मांsगि लेलखिन रानीl कहलखिन झाम्पि दsहि जे जहिना छै से तहिनाl हमर हैत तs जैत कतsl कहलखिन अपन, बड़ बढ़िया,  उ झाम्पि देलकनl  तs पटीदारक अंगना सs कहलखिन कि जे जो एते मांsगि कs ,  से हुनका कहुन गs रोहिदास लै देताl ओ जे मांगs गेलय चेरिया तs कहलकय एक आंटी सावे धरा देलखिन जे हमरा से इ कहबन राजा के बांsटि कs देता तs हम हुनका रोहिदास के दइ छियन भोजनl उ कहs एलखिनl

But whenAs the maid went to dig it upout, everything came out as coal. It was allEverything was coal. “Make her look insee the second corner. But,  it, too,  was all coal. She searched in Saw the third corner;,  it was same, coal. WhenAs she searchedsaw the fourth corner, she, the Queen, sought apologizedy. She told herasked the maid, “Cover them as they are. If they were mine, where would they go.” She answered, “fine.” said. Fine it was. The maid re-covered them all. Then she commandasked of the maid, “Go to, ask at my relationve’s place and, tell them to give a little for Rohidas.” WhenAs the maid went to inquire ask at the relationve’s place, they responded by sayingsaid, “The King gave only a 1 ¼ quarter-and-a-full kottah (measurement varies from place to place in India) of land, so ask the King if he is willing tocan divide the land and give us (our share); only, then will weI provide food for Rohidas.” The maid returned with this reportcame telling that.

राजा कहलखिन चलु  चलु रानी उठाऊ जे छी, तीनु गोटे चलुl अइ देश से जे भीख दुख मांगब से आने देश में मांsगि कs खैबl आने देश में मांsगि कs खैब, चलुl झांझी कुत्ता, सेल्खि, चेरिया, राजा, रानी, रोहिदास बेटा विदा भेलl

The King told the Queen, “Llet’s go, let’s go. Whatever we have left, let’s take it all., Llet’s go, all three of us. Whatever we would beg for here in this country, better if we beg for the same and eat in another country. W e should beg for foodand eat in another county. Let’s go.” Jhanjhi, the dog, the household help, the maid, the King, the Queen, their son Rohidas, all started off.

विदा भेलनl कहलखिन तs सड़क पर गेलन तs रानी कहलखिन आ राजा जे हs गय हम तs बारह बरस विपैत काटब से बारह बरस में से इ झांझी कुत्ता आ तू हमरा संगे कतs बउएबs से अहाँ सब घुरि जाउl हमरा सब के तs काटs के अइ बारह बरखl गेलैथ अपनl

All of them started off. When they set offfoot on road, the King and the Queen toldasked the maid, “Hey, we are bound for a 12-years of trouble so whyere shwould you and this barking dog roam with us, so you shouldguys return back. We have to gobe through this for 12 years.” And with thatSo they proceeded thereon. 

गेलैथ तीनु गोटेl जाइत जाइत एकटा कलम में बैसिलीl कहलखिन राजा आब भुखे नइ रहल होई यैह से आब कोनो उपैए करूl तs गुल्लिर के गाछ सामने में पड़लनl गुल्लिर गाछ में गुल्लिर फड़ल लाले लालेl रानी कहलखिन ,राजा यऊ, कथी, आ तs जकरा एते सुंदर फर छै ओ खै में कतेs सुंदर लगतै से अहाँ चढु डांर में गमछा बांsधि लियs अहाँ खसैब आ हम आँचर में कs लोकने जैबl आ तीनु प्राणी खा लेब तब कतोs जैब फेर मांगs चांगs, व्यवस्था करबl

All three went onproceeded. AlongOn their way, they pausedhad a stop over in an orchard. The King said, “I cannot withstand this’t stay hungerry anymore,  so do let’s do someanything.” A cluster fig tree stood before themwas there in front. The tree was laden withhad red, ripefull blown fruits laden. The Queen said, “Ohhello, my King.” “What is it,” asked the King replied. The Queen said, “The fruits that are so beautiful looking, how delicious might theywould it taste upon eating, I wonder! So, you please climb the tree, and wrap a towel around your waistste and climb the tree. AsYou keep on When you ddrop theping fruits, and I will catch them in my saree as you drop them. And then we three canwould goleave for someanywhere, would ask for food, and then arrange something or another.”

अपन राजा चढ़लैथl उ गुल्लिर कहूं जों जों एना कs छुबथिन तs तs आकाश लागल जाएl तs तs ऊपर भागल जाएl रानी के डर भेलन जे इहो एकटा संग में छैथ कहियो गाछ वृक्ष देखने नइ चढ़sल नइ से खसि पड़ता तs चलि जेता इहोl उतरु राजा, उतरु राजाl राजा उतैर गेलैथl कहलखिन जे सुनु आब कि करबl आब नगर में कनी दूर गेलैथ त एकटा गांव भेटलैनl अइ गांव में से कहलखिन आब गमछा के झोरी बना देलखिन आ कहलखिन जे आब कहियो गs अहाँ लोक सब के हमरा किछ दियsl गेलैथ एक अंगना में दु ननद भाउज जांत पीसैत रहै l छीलैक छीलैक ओकर गहुम के आटा खसैत रहय, खसैत रहयl

The King climbed the tree. The moment he reached up for and touched a fruit, it would move up even higher, rising out of reach that would go even farther, would go up and away. The Queen considered fearfullydreaded, “I hHave this only this man in my life, who has never experienced a tree, never climbed one. What if he falls?. “Please get down, please get down.” The King descendedcame down. He consideredasked, “What to do now?” As they wentmoved a bit further in the city, they came uponreached a village. In that village, she made him a tote of his towel, and suggested toasked him, “Now you go up to people and ask for things.” He approachedwent to a houseme. A; a woman and her sister-in-law, the two there were busy there grinding something with a manual grinder. Some of the wheat flour that they were preparing was also spilling out from the sides of the grinder.

उ राजा गेलखिन मुँह पर कहलखिन हमरा किछ भेटत, राजा, हमरा एतs भेटौ किछl राजा कहलखिनl ओकर श्री सपता जे रहथिन चढ़ल कपार पर से के हटौतेl वै अधला हमरा लिखल रहत हमरा के हटैतl ओकर हाता टुइट गेलय, कील टुइट गेलय, हर्रा दर्रा चिकस खसs लगलयl  उ दुनु ननद भाउज में झगड़ा भs गेलय केहन दलिद्रा ब्राह्मण आयल जे हमरा सबटा अन्न नाश भs गेलयl

The King then beseechedasked at theat entrywaydoorstep, “MightCan I haveget something? Might I should get receive something here?.” But wWho would have removed Sapta who was therewas on his head. “TheSame bad omen that is written in my fate, who could possiblywill remove that,” reflectedsaid the King. The handle of the grinder broke, its spin broke, and the flour started getting splattering abouted. A fFight broke out between that woman and her sister-in-law. “What an unlucky Brahmin came, all our grains aregot wasted!.”

एगो बूढ़ी रहथिन हमरे सन बैठल असोरा पर, कहलखिन आहाहा, हे हुनका दs दियौन जे हुनका भाग्यs में खसलय यैह से दs दियौनl इ उठा कs हर्रा दर्रा देलकयl राजा अपन आयल रानी लग l रानी लग जे आयल तs, रानी लग आयल धs देलकयl कहलकय, यऊ राजा  तs आब एकरा जे हम कि सs कि करबयl अहाँ बन जाऊ, बन गोइठा बिछ कs लाऊ गsl फेर गमछा देलकैन, बन गोइठा बिछ कs लेलखिन l

An old lady (like me), sitting there at the verandah, was saddened byfelt pained at this. She , said, “Hey, please give him what was poured into his fate, give him that.” They gave it to him, picking up what remained the left over there. The King returnedcame to the Queen. As he arrivedcame to her, he handed what he had over that to her. The Queen respondedasked him, “Hey,  my King, what amwill I to do with this?” She said, “GYou go to forest, and bring back some cow-dung cake.” Then she gave him a towel again. He brought, pickeding up cow-dung cake from the forest and brought it back with him. 

तs रानी अहरा लगौलेन, लिट्टी पकौलेनl कतौ माछ मरैत रहै से उ रानी के नजर पर नदी पड़ि गेल lमाछ मरैत रहैl  कहलकय यऊ राजा केना जइ मुँहे खाई छलऊँ खीर कर्पूर तइ मुँहे केना उ झरकौल लिट्टी फरकौल माछ खैबय अहाँl कोना के हम देब, से माछ लाऊ गsl ओइ जा गेलखिन तs ओकर जाल टुइट गेलयl रे बाबू आब कोन उपैए हेतयl रोहूआ बुआर नइ परै टेंगरा पोठ्ठी परs लगलय l 

The Queen then lit the fire in an earthen oven for, bakinged lLittis (gram flour doughs made in butter and with seasonings). Somewhere the Queen saw a river where fishing was underway. Fishes were being caughttaken out. She said, “Hey my King, how come you will you be able to eat that poor quality, lessow-preferred fish and half-baked lLitti, when your previously your mouth savoured only such desiredgreat foods aslike flavoured rice-milk pudding?. How can I possibly give that to you?. So please go and get suchbring (high quality) fish.” WhenAs the King went there, the fishing net of fisherman’s net got broken. What will happen, O My God, what will be?!. rRohu and, bBoari fish could no’t be gottenfetched. Only tTengra and, pPothi (the less preferred varieties) could be had. 

 टेंगरा पोठ्ठी जे परs लगलय तs मलहाs सब मार मार कs दौड़लनl मलहाs सब जे मार मार कs दौड़लन तs एगो बूढ़ मलहाs भीड़ पर बैठल रहैl कहलकय आहाहा, हे ई ब्राह्मण छथिन, ब्राह्मण छथिन जे हुनका भाग्य में पड़लैन है से दs दहुनl ओतs देलखिन छोटका माछ जे पड़लैनl टेंगरा पोठ्ठी लs कs एलैथl फेर रानी लग गेलl कहलखिन राजा जे आब हम नहाऊ गsl तs हाँ, आब जाऊ स्नान करू गsl फेर रानी अहरा लगा कs माछ पकौलेन, लिट्टी पकौलेनl  कहलखिन जइ मुँहे राजा खाई छलथ खीर कर्पूर तइ मुँहे झरकौल लिट्टी फरकौल माछ कोना कs आगु कs देबनl

SinceAs he was able to catch onlycould have tTengra and pPothi, the fishermen (who were angry at their bad harvest that day) ran after him and beat him, ran after him and beat him. Aan old fisherman was sitting there inat a corner. He said, “Hey, don’t do that. He is a Brahmin. Whatever he has been allotted to himhas got in his share, allow him that.” He was given the small fishes that fell in his share. He came home with tTengra and pPothi. He went to the Queen. The King asked, “Shall I go to bathefor bath?” The Queen replied,  “Yes, please go and bathetake bath now.” Again the Queen lit the fire in an earthen oven,  and baked lLitti, and cooked the fish. She rued, “How can IWhy should IHow come I will place this poor quality, lessow-preferred fish and half-baked lLitti in front of the King, when his mouth has previously tastedsavoured only flavoured rice-milk pudding.” 

रानी सोचलैथ, गेलैथ पोखर में धोइ लैl एकटा नदी रहय ओइ जा बैठलl ऊपर सs श्री सपता महारानी देखैत रहैनl संग तs छोरयन नइ कखनोl कहलखिन, गय बहिन सपता तs कि भाई विपता, भैया विपताl आ तs देखि एहन महारानी के गौरव से लिट्टी आ माछ एलौ एs धोइ लैl उ तेहन हिलकोर मारलखिन जे सबटा दहा कs चलि गेलय पानी में, जल में चलि गेलयl रानी ठकुआ गेलl रानी कानs लागल जे आब राजा के हम कि जवाब देबनl कहलखिन जा, लिट्टी के श्राप देलखिन जे तू पीपरक पात भs जहियsl कोनो भोज काज भs जेतय अहाँ अंगना में टपब, टपियहs नइ तू l आ माछ के कहलखिन तू भेसारि माछ भs जहियsl भेसारि माछ भs जहियs जे कतबो धोतs बनौतs तs ओकर अच्छैनी बिसयनी नइ जेतय, से दs कs चलि एलैथl बड़ बढ़िया, एलैथ l

The Queen thought this over and went to the pond to clean the fish. She sSat at a river there during the day. Goddess Sapta was sitting there watching herlooking from above. She hHardly would haveshe let them belive alone. Vipta said, “Hey sister Sapta.” Sapta replied, “Yes, brother Vipta?” He said, “Look atSee this Queen’s ego. She has come to clean wash the raw fish and baked litti.” He hustled so forcibly that the fish and litti got washed awayashore , went into the water. The Queen was left stunned. She started crying, “Now wWhat will would now I be able to offer my King?.” Then she cursed the lLittis, “Go!. You will bYou become the leavesf of pPeepal tree. You will become so inauspicious so as to never make it to a home where a feast is being organized.” And she cursed the fish, “You will become a dirty, foul-smelling bBhesari (the worst smelling and dirtiest variety of fish). No matter how much you areget clean washed, you will not end up smelling foul and feel grittydusty.” She came back after cursing them. Very So far so good. S, she returned.came back.

जब दिन हिनकर लौटलैन फेरो, बारह बरख पूरि गेलन राजा रानी के तब कहलखिन कि. . .

When the time finally came for their good days returncame back, after 12 years of the King and the Queen’s suffering were complete got over, then he said…

The King would saidy, “Fish that out.” The Queen retorted, “No, I bow before you, but I won’t. One time ce I you did such a thing for you, and this 12-year trap was the resulthappened. Now I won’t do such a thing again.” Even sothen the King himself fished that mouse out and put itkept inon the boat. OnceAs he putkept the mouse ion the boat, the mouse cut the string of its net aswhen the boat reached the middle of the riverwent mid waters. The King and the Queen began to drown in the water as the boat capsized. The King swam out and the Queen too made it to got thwarted ashore. But the son, Rohidas, was swallowedgulped inside by the great river fish Rohuaa-Buar (the big fish in the river), where he was kept safe inside. Rohua-Buar swallowgulped him. They cried.bitterly , became calmed, and then left for another place.

The fisherman and his wife once again began fetching the desirable rRohus and bBuar fishs from their river. The fisherman’s wife told her husband, “Hey, the Queen has come back today after 12 years. Place some big fish in the King’s basket today.” The fisherman said, “If you supplygive the big fishes today, he will ask for the same everyday.” The fisherman’s wife replied, “It cannot be so.Can it happen like this. It won’t be. We will give according to what we reap. For today, you give me this only.” She came with the fishes to the Queen, “Hello, madam. Hello. Please prepare that for cooking.” As the fisherman’s wife started preparing the fish, it called out, “Hey, fisherman’s wife, hello!, Hhold my umbilical cord, and pull me take out, I am Rohidas.”
